Fire at Baghjan Oil Well in Assam
A devastating fire broke out in an oil well located in Baghjan, Tinsukia yesterday at around 2 pm. The oil field is under OIl India Ltd.
The fire spread fast to a radius of 5 kms. The villagers were evacuated earlier whereas the fire killed cattle, houses and crops of the villagers.
The oil well is located adjacent to Maguri Been, a wetland which is hotspot for a wide variety of fishes, the precious river dolphin and other flora and fauna.
The Dibru Saikhow National Park is located near it.
